DEVELOPING A NEW APPROACH

ERGO aims to improve identification and assessment of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) for the protection of human health and the environment. It will do so by breaking down the wall that currently exists between the different research fields that investigate adverse effects of EDCs in different vertebrate classes.

MEET THE CONSORTIUM

The ERGO consortium brings together 15 partners from eight countries and is coordinated by Syddansk Universitet (SDU) in Denmark. The consortium consists of 10 research bodies, two industry companies, one small to medium enterprise (SME), one environmental protection agency and one consultancy.

IMPACT ON HUMAN HEALTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT

The results of ERGO are expected to improve identification and hazard assessment of Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs); to develop new approaches in the regulatory use of standardized test guidelines for EDCs and to promote the development of EDC-free products in industry benefitting both the environment and human health.
